Obama’s Greatest Speech

Magna Carta

Magna Carta

On June 15th, 2015, Obama will deliver his greatest speech. For on that day he will commemorate the signing of the Magna Carta and what it meant to the English at the time, and to all English-speaking countries (as well as all other peoples) into the present day.

He will elaborate on the rights inferred to free people from that charter, as well as to the limitations placed on the Crown, or other governmental agencies. He may also want to steal from Daniel Hannan’s speech (sans teleprompter) to set up the fundamental principles upon which the British colonists in North America based a major part of their legislative philosophy.

However, seeing that Obama does not like English liberties, and does not like individual liberties, and does not like governmental limitations, and moreover certainly is not able to memorize a 10-minute speech without his TP, I guess I will be mistaken. Others in America will rightly point to the Magna Carta as part of the great historical trend within the English people that eventually led to an equally magnificent document, the United States Constitution. My guess is that Obama on June 15th, 2015, will be resting after another excruciating weekend of golf.
