It sounds like a good word. A great word even: EQUAL. It’s nice. Only two syllables; plenty of speaking time for other words. Here’s the problem. The concept of equality of outcomes (when everyone must become equal) is a communist or utopian concept. No one is inherently equal. We are born that way, but each life takes a different path. We all have different amounts of religiosity, moral character, ambition and propensity for risk-taking. In a free society, accidental characteristics such as your sex, the amount of melatonin in your skin, your height, or other physical attributes, have no place in democratic decision-making. In the current United States however, such socialistic engineering is gaining popular, if un-equal, support.
