The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) is looking to shakedown anyone or everyone once again at the munificent climate change conference circuit in Doha.

Apparently we have breezed past the mitigation phase, where evil, rich countries must deindustrialize. We have also blown by the adaptation phase, where evil, rich countries must build windmills at which poorer nations can tilt. Finally we can breathe a sigh of relief as we enter the compensation phase, where evil, rich countries must pay for all of the climate damage thus far.

And what is climate damage, you ask? The better question is what is not climate damage. If this scam had been invented by a mob family I’d be almost envious of its ingenuity, scale and audaciousness. On the other hand it might well be time to sit down with our AOSIS young adults and tell them, as diplomatically as possible, to “Get A Job!”
