It’s like pulling teeth in many countries and the ‘sky-high-energy-prices’ UK is still pursuing its energy strategy even though the horse’s head is very much dead. With creeping trepidation, the ominous-sounding Climate Change Committee makes its usual noises, shouting “Environmental blasphemy!” at every turn. It is indeed something akin to a morality play when the government department overseeing keeping the lights on in this impoverished island is called the Department of Energy & Climate Change.
