Utopia, or literally ’nowhere’, or even more literally ’not a place’, can always be made to look or sound wonderful and fantastic; actually having to live in what is inevitably someone else’s ideal paradise, someone who probably doesn’t like you very much, is another thing entirely.
Here’s a cool little dystopian mini-movie (15 minutes), quite possibly, somehow, in a way, associated with Australia’s now well-known fascistic hatred of its own citizens. The term ‘Prison Island’ didn’t happen by mere chance after all. How did the freedom-loving Ozzies become enamored of systems of state-control eerily reminiscent of the present-day totalitarian hell-scape that is communist-controlled China? Could it perhaps be linked to the subversive political influence by the present-day totalitarian hell-scape that is communist-controlled China? Who can say? Who dare say? This is the ’influence’ that dare not speaks its name.
