The first ‘Earth Day’, April 22nd, 1970, was the same eco-extremist affair that it is today: a whole group of ‘liberal’ people being utterly intolerant about anyone having a different opinion. Of course, this liberal intolerance has spread to every aspect of life, but even today the eco-extremists are an integral part of the whole.

Back in the 1970s, the Great Fear™  was of a cooling earth, produced by evil man putting dirty stuff into Mother Gaia’s pristine atmosphere. Today, the Great Fear™  is of a warming earth, produced by evil man putting dirty stuff into Mother Gaia’s pristine atmosphere. One great shift though has been to move the focus from real pollution, CO, SO², NO² (because evil man has actually done a great job here), to fake pollution, CO². And the eco-extremists have found that fake pollution is a far more potent tool than real pollution ever was.
